WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

This is a new position working within the broader Risk, Internal Audit and Compliance team and will develop, implement and embed processes supporting the delivery of an assurance program that will promote a strong internal control environment and support Chorus to deliver on our priorities and strategies.

You will:

• Partner with the team in developing the assurance program and building its reputation within Chorus as adding value
• Execute independent, high quality, assurance reviews across all Chorus business functions including business engagement, developing the scope, executing the review, and delivering a value-add report on areas of weakness, or opportunity, in the internal control environment
• Help provide independent and objective assurance to the business, including the Executive, on the effectiveness and efficiency of Chorus’ system of internal controls
• Undertake routine recertification of obligation registers including scheduling and executing recertification in partnership with Obligation Owners in the Business; identifying opportunities for best practice and drafting progress updates
• Other reviews at the direction of the Head of Risk, Internal Audit and Compliance

WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO THE TABLE

The most important thing is your personality.  But having the following will definitely help:

• Related business degree and 4+ years’ experience in executing financial, IT, Supply Chain, operational or other audits, compliance and assurance work including planning, scoping, fieldwork, and reporting
• Naturally curious and unbiased, you'll have a knack for identifying anomalies and areas for improvement, with a solution’s focussed approach
• Building and maintaining collaborative relationships across Chorus
• You can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy to undertake work including applying relevant standards, policies, and regulations to form outcomes and provide solutions
• Articulate and effective with both verbal and written communication
• Flexibility to travel within NZ (occasional trips dependent on the work program)
