    This is a remote position providing advanced level of expertise on health equity and quality improvement to all members of the contract team and CMS. This remote position supports the implementation of a disparities national quality improvement initiative, which infuses health equity as an integral part of CMS programs. The Subject Matter Expert will have in-depth knowledge of the impact of disparities on health and the delivery of quality healthcare, especially for racial/ethnic minorities, individuals with disabilities, sexual and gender minorities, and those living in rural communities.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Supports CMS staff and contractor staff across different agencies to design and evaluate health equity related quality improvement initiatives.
    • Provides clinical expertise to inform health equity and quality improvement initiatives.
    • Collaborates with the contractor and CMS to design and adapt processes and deliverables to meet changing needs.
    • Provides customer service functions related to the contractor and federal agencies' implementation of health equity quality improvement initiatives across national programs.
    • Assists in the development, evaluation process, and implementation of policies and procedures, relating to all contract activities.
    • Liaison to contractor and federal agencies with possible responsibilities including: facilitating meetings, attending meetings, addressing questions and concerns raised by contractor, and delivering presentations.
    • Oversees specific projects to ensure all contract requirements are met, including deliverable due dates.
    • Acts as administrative lead for specific projects.
    • Interfaces significantly with CMS staff and contractor staff.
    • Supports ongoing contractor relationships and development of processes and procedures for new initiatives.
    • Represents the organization at the national level in relation to contract administration.
    • Identifies opportunities for improvement; assists team in developing and implementing improvement strategies.
    • Be comfortable responding to requests with a rapid turnaround to meet deliverable due dates.

    Required Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in Nursing
    • Must possess leadership skills and the ability to interact with all levels of personnel, including state and national collaborations.
    • Health equity and disparities reduction experience
    • Project management skills
    • Quality improvement experience
    • Strong writing and presentation skills
    • Ability to rapidly respond to contract requests to ensure deliverable due dates are met
    • Ability to assimilate data and information to evaluate health equity plans per contract requirements
