    TALLAHASSEE COMMUNITY COLLEGE’S DEPARTMENT OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY IS SEEKING ENTHUSIASTIC TECHNOLOGY OUTREACH COORDINATOR FOR DEVELOPING STRONG PARTNERSHIPS ACROSS ALL FUNCTIONAL AREAS OF THE COLLEGE COMMUNITY IN SUPPORT OF EFFECTIVE USE OF TECHNOLOGY AND INFORMATION LITERACY FOR ACADEMIC AND ADMINISTRATIVE USE.  THIS INDIVIDUAL SHOULD HAVE A PASSION FOR LEARNING, DEVELOPING, AND INSPIRING THE USE OF CURRENT, NEW, AND EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES.

     

    The Technology Outreach Coordinator is responsible for developing strong partnerships with all areas of the College. S/he will partner with departments and divisions to identify ways in which technology and technology services can be used to strengthen the college mission.  Responsible for communicating about technology with the campus in a variety of ways including oral, written, multi-media, social media, etc. Responsible for researching the technologies and services to meet the needs of the campus. Participate in projects effectively across functional IT departmental lines to provide the College community with end-user resources.

     

    The incumbent will also be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the Technology Outreach Team, which includes managing the staff, setting team goals, conducting performance appraisals, assigning work assignments, and monitoring team performance.  S/he will also manage IT training rooms, equipment, and related reservations.    

     

    The Technology Outreach Coordinator will coordinate with all functional areas of IT as well as external vendors to identify and provide technology related information and services to the College community that help achieve individual, departmental, divisional and College goals. The incumbent will have strong skills in presenting technology in fun and innovative ways that motivates others to engage technology in their day-to-day job duties.

     

    MINIMUM TRAINING/EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree and five years related experience as a technology Trainer, Instructional Design Specialist, Technology Documentation Specialist or related position. Experience conducting face-­to-face technology training workshops, including workshops to large groups, on a variety of technologies is also required. Experience in creating, editing and publishing end-­user documentation.

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Ability to obtain and maintain a US DoD SECRET clearance
    • Bachelor’s Degree: Systems Engineering, Aerospace, Mechanical Physics or related technical degree.
    • 10 years work experience
    • Systems engineering experience
    • Experience with vehicle design and operation, dynamics, propulsion, performance analysis, supersonic / hypersonic aerodynamics, missile navigation, guidance and control, and/or flight test data analysis
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Programming and scripting experience in a Linux environment
    • Communication, documentation and briefing via Microsoft office products (Outlook, Powerpoint, Excel, Word)

     

    DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Active US DoD SECRET or TOP SECRET Security Clearance
    • Masters or PhD degree preferred with relevant research project experience
    • MATLAB for the visual display of quantitative information, and prototyping M&S codes
    • Python for modeling and simulation development, data analysis, etc.
    • Facility working with C++ API and creating test drivers
    • Self-starter – Demonstrate independent ownership of tasking. Position affords opportunity to define path and lead tasks based on technical understanding of engineering community and appreciation of customer needs
    • Modeling and analysis experience and capability in one or more of the following areas:
      • Missile Systems (Aerodynamic, Ballistic, Space)
      • Defense Weapon System Performance (e.g. Navy Surface systems, Ballistic Missile Defense systems)
      • Ground Test and Field Test Events (missile flight and sensor track pre-event prediction and post-mission assessment)
      • RF Sensors / EO-IR Imaging / Remote Sensing Systems – Signal Processing, Detection and Track Filtering
      • Multi-Sensor Data Fusion, Target Classification and Discrimination (Machine Learning / AI applications)
    • Familiarity with version-control (Git), issue tracking (JIRA), collaboration software (Confluence), and cross-language software integration tools (SWIG).
    • Familiarity with high-performance computing environments
