    RESPONSIBILITIES: The Student Support Services (SSS) Student Tutor position is a part-time position. The SSS Student Tutor serves as a tutor for general education courses for students who are members of the SSS Program. Tutors are needed in the areas of American Federal Government, U.S. History, General Psychology, Intro to Sociology, and General Education Science courses. Hours are flexible.

     

    Position is contingent upon receipt of Title IV (TRIO) Federal Funds.

     

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Graduate student or undergraduate student with at least 60 credit hours completed with an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher, and who have received a grade of an “A” in the subject area to be tutored. The SSS Student Tutor must exhibit an aptitude, interest, and ability to communicate course material along with adhering to strict standards of confidentiality. In addition, the SSS Student Tutor must attend regularly scheduled staff and training meetings. The SSS Student Tutor must maintain accurate documentation of tutoring sessions and be able to effectively communicate with a diverse student population.  

     

    Preference will be given to students with experience working with SSS student populations.

     

    SALARY RANGE: $8.50/Hour

    THIS POSITION MUST BE THOROUGHLY KNOWLEDGEABLE AT CONFIGURING/INSTALLING A CONTENT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (CMS), MANAGING WEB SERVER ENVIRONMENTS AND TECHNOLOGIES, AND SUPPORTING AN AUDITABLE RELEASE/CHANGE MANAGEMENT PROCESS.  IN ORDER TO DO SO THE FOLLOWING ARE REQUIRED:

    1. A Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of equivalent work experience in web development at a medium to large organization. Position will be responsible for being able to review code (primary .NET, HTML, SQL) provided by external contractors and managing Windows IIS Servers.
    2. 2+ years of experience in supervising outsourced web development contracts. This includes being able to implement technologies to “scrub” data on websites, if necessary, before providing development environments to contractors.
    3. Candidate must either possess Security+ certification or be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of computer network and secure protocols (e.g. SSL, FTPS, SFTP, HTTPS, etc).
    4. Candidate must possess and be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint, Windows Server OS, Active Directory, and Microsoft SQL Server. Knowledge of other Content Management Systems (e.g. DNN) is a plus.
    5. Candidate must be able to demonstrate, design, and support a Release Management Process.
    6. Candidate must be able to explain the differences between a two and three tiered application security model and when one is preferred versus the other.
    7. Candidate must possess and be able to design/support a Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Secure Coding Standards (SCS). Experience with Team Foundation Server (TFS), preferred.
    8. Candidate demonstrates an understanding of PCI Standards and be able to demonstrate/apply PCI concepts in order to secure public facing websites and applications.
    9. Candidate must be able to work with other teams that support technologies such as dynamic DNS, Load Balancers, and Firewalls to provide high availability and disaster recovery environments.
    10. Strong time management skills in technical environments and project management.
    11. Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
