  • Responsibilities

    Wilson & Company is currently seeking a full-time Bridge Section Manager to lead our structural team. The ideal candidate will have experience in structural design projects and performing complex planning, analysis, and design for all structural aspects of railroad projects. We are looking for someone with great communication skills, who enjoys being part of a team performing office and field work. 

     

    Regular job duties include managing the design and detailing railroad and highway structures, including reinforced concrete, pre-stressed concrete, steel, earth retaining systems, drainage structures, and light industrial structures. Candidate must be able to perform complex engineering tasks accurately, extract engineering information from CAD drawings, and complete a variety of assignments such as developing drawings, specifications, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes.

     

    In addition to design and inspection tasks listed, the candidate will be expected to lead the structural design of projects and mentor all levels of staff in design and production of construction drawings.  Communication is key for this position.  The candidate will need to communicate effectively to direct all levels of staff as well as provide reports and updates to senior-level staff and clients.  The candidate will need to be able to work in a team environment with engineers from a multitude of disciplines.

    Required Skills

    • AISC – Steel Construction Manual
    • ACI – 318
    • PCI
    • AASHTO LRFD

     

    Software:

    • AutoCAD
    • MicroStation
    • Microsoft Office software
    • MathCad
    • Conspan (or other PPC analysis program)
    • RISA 3D
    • SAP2000 or other Non-linear analysis program

    Required Experience

    • Seven plus years of experience with an advanced degree in a related area of Structural Engineering.
    • Professional Engineer licensed with the ability to obtain licenses in other states, within 12 months is preferred.
    • Candidate must have established and proven relationships with Class I railroad clients.
    • Significant experience that demonstrates successful management and financial responsibility of the engineering business.
    • Excellence in managing project pursuits, preparing proposals, and working with marketing staff.
    • Experience with recruiting high end talent.
    • Must be comfortable with frequent travelling.

    ANNUAL SALARY RANGE: $75,000 - $125,000
