  • Responsibilities

    Wilson & Company, Inc., Engineers & Architects is currently seeking an experienced full-time Construction Inspector in Utah. The ideal candidate will be responsible to determine if the materials and the work performed are in accordance with specified requirements. The ideal candidate will work under the supervision of, and is directly responsible to, the Resident Engineer (RE) or other personnel assigned to specific construction operations. Inspector’s duties include inspection and observation, documenting and making necessary records or reports of operations, and other duties as directed by the Resident Engineer. The ideal candidate must have a good understanding and knowledge of work required by the contract. This position requires client interaction and coordination for all jobsite activities.

     

    The ideal candidate must meet qualification requirements of the Inspector Qualification Program (IQP) and have a minimum of 15 years of transportation construction inspection experience with UDOT and/or other public agencies. Strong communication and managerial skills are important components of this position as well as a track record of leading projects.     REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Must have experience working on UDOT transportation projects.
    • Experience working on local government transportation/Public Works projects in Utah.
    • Current on all required UDOT CEMT Certifications and Partnering Training.
    • Must have Valid Utah Driver’s License and Safe Driving Record.
    • Other Testing and Inspection Certifications a Plus.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    EDUCATION: 

    • Graduated from an accredited school of nursing with Advanced Practice Nurse Master’s Degree OR
    • Graduated from an accredited Professional Physician Assistant Program
    • Active Physician Assistant state license or Nurse Practitioner state license 
    • Active DEA license from state of practice if applicable
    • Board Certified (NP must be FNP certified for six (6) months to adult)
    • BLS Certification
    • Medical Examiners Certification for DOT physicals (ME certification may be acquired within the first 30 days of employment)

    ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • Must be aware of hazardous situations and be able to provide a leadership role in emergencies as needed.
