Position summary: Responsible for preparing plans from the provided engineering sketches and details for projects. U.S. Residency Required.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Transfer engineering sketches and details to plans utilizing OpenBridge Modeler and/or OpenRoads Designer, MicroStation
• Makes basic engineering computations and prepares and revises specifications.
• Make quality control corrections to contract drawings

Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities

• Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Skills

Required Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent and Technical school training with courses in computer-aided drafting
• Proficient in MicroStation, OpenBridge Modeler and/or OpenRoads Designer
• Knowledge of design and drafting procedures
• The ability to work as part of a team

Preferred Experience

• Associates degree in Drafting or Engineering or other relevant education
• Technical school training with courses in computer-aided drafting
• Experience with NCDOT guidelines, procedures and plan production is a plus
• Candidates must be self-motivated, learn rapidly, be able to take direction, and possess a strong desire to excel professionally

Working Conditions

Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.
