    Wilson & Company’s Omaha, NE office is currently seeking a full-time Rail/Industrial Structures Manager to support the professional development and growth of the structures team within the Private Infrastructure organization. The ideal candidate will have experience in structural design projects and performing complex planning, analysis, and design for all structural aspects of railroad-related projects. This position will have a primary focus on the daily operations of structural engineering personnel and interoffice collaboration for rail and industrial projects. We are looking for someone with great communication skills, who enjoys being part of a team performing office and field work, and ability to collaborate and develop solutions with other disciplines.

    Professional Responsibilities:

    • Actively manage projects and support staff technically.
    • Support and contribute to the sales goals of the team.
    • Manager is responsible for team utilization, and financial metrics within parameters set by the Division.
    • Monitor and update pursuit pipeline and operational labor backlog.
    • Perform and ensure compliance with Wilson & Company’s:
      • Goal setting and review policies.
      • Quality control and quality assurance standards.
      • Contract review standards.
      • Project planning and implementation.
      • Risk management.
    • Mentor, train, recruit, and retain staff in coordination with the staffing plan.
    • Ability to work with other offices and divisions within the Company.
    • Implement and monitor compliance with firm-wide safety and division safety policies.

    Required Skills

    To be considered, the candidate must have working knowledge and skills in the following:

    Design manuals, railroad guidelines and recommended practices:

    • AREMA – Manual for Railway Engineering
    • AISC – Steel Construction Manual
    • ACI
    • PCI
    • AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications
    • Class I railroad guidelines for design and construction

    Software:

    • AutoCAD
    • MicroStation
    • Microsoft Office software
    • MathCad
    • LEAP CONSPAN (or other PPC analysis program)
    • RISA 3D
    • SAP2000 or other non-linear analysis program(s)

    Required Experience

    • Minimum of 6 plus years of experience in design, engineering, and construction.
    • Experience with Class I Railroads preferred but not required.
    • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and licensure as a Professional Engineer license with the ability to obtain licenses in other states.
    • Experience that demonstrates successful management and financial responsibility of the engineering business.
    • Ensure quality management with implementation of quality control standards.
    • Must be comfortable with frequent travel at times.
    • Communication is key for this position

    Annual Salary Range: $90,000 - $150,000
