Responsible for identifying and interpreting user needs. Providing personalized, instructive assistance in locating library offered information resources of all types, interpreting content or use of, and being a “human” resource if their question requires further research or refinement. Librarian performed reference service is currently provided in person, by phone, e-mail, text and chat. Works with the library team assisting in duties related to interlibrary loan, collection development, digital projects, archives, or copyright.

Required Experience

• Master’s degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited institution
• One year of experience working in a library
• Experience with automated library systems
• Experience searching electronic databases and the Internet

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Two years of experience working in a library
• Experience in an academic setting
• Teaching or bibliographic instruction experience
• Experience using Learning Management Systems and Microsoft Office applications
