    ADMINISTRATOR IN TRAINING (AIT) JOB

     

    Allied Services Integrated Health System is currently seeking a ADMINISTRATOR IN TRAINING for an internship at SKILLED NURSING AND REHAB, located in Scranton, PA.

    THE AIT PROGRAM IS A FULL-TIME/VOLUNTARY INTERNSHIP (DETAILS WILL BE PROVIDED DURING INTERVIEW), MULTI - MONTH PROGRAM IN WHICH THE AIT OBTAINS PRACTICAL ON-THE-JOB TRAINING IN A NURSING HOME UNDER THE DIRECT SUPERVISION OF AN EXPERIENCED ADMINISTRATOR PRECEPTOR/MENTOR.

    THE TRAINING PROGRAM INCLUDES: Rotation through the various departments and duties in a skilled nursing facility; education on the interrelationships of the facility with outside parties and government agencies (such as the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services); and a study of regulations and requirements associated with the operation of a skilled nursing facility. Other topics of education for those in the AIT position include business/fiscal accounting management and principles of risk management and health care compliance. AIT candidates must meet the minimum regulatory requirements for licensure in Pennsylvania.

    The ideal candidates for the Administrator in Training position will have a desire to assume the key leadership roles within the post-acute sector. This position requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college. Candidate must be eligible to be enrolled in an AIT program. (Strong management and operation skills, strong math and budgetary skills, and excellent written and verbal communication skills are required for this position.

    Applicants must meet one of the following educational requirements:

    • Have been awarded, from an accredited college or university a master’s degree in nursing home administration, in hospital administrator, in public health administration or in another academic area, including social gerontology, in which there is an emphasis in related health facility administration (§39.5(b)(4)(i) of the regulations).
    • Have been awarded a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (§39.5(b)(3) of the regulations).
    • Be enrolled in the final year of a bachelor’s or acceptable master’s degree program at an accredited college or university.
    • Applicants must be at least twenty-one years old.
    • Applicants must be a citizen of the United States or duly declared their intention of becoming a citizen of the United States
