McKean Defense is seeking an AEGIS Computing Infrastructure (ACI) Technician to directly support and provide daily engagement with the NSWC Port Hueneme Division Fleet Project Office. Candidate can reside in Port Hueneme or San Diego area. Support responsibilities include:
- Provide In-Service Engineering and logistics technical services for the ACI equipment as well as NSWCPHD test sites and ships.
- Provide operational support, engineering recommendations, technical documentation updates, material prototyping and engineering research.
- Provide onsite engineering services for the ACI to include but not limited to equipment assessments, technical assistance, ORDALT installations, data extraction and analysis, writing test reports, test results, data storage and related services.
- Embark on navy vessels for extended periods covering the length of typical Carrier Strike Group deployments. Must be physically able to work aboard a U.S. Navy ship and support short underway periods with ability to travel CONUS and OCONUS
- Provide on-site Field Service Engineering and Technical Support for ACI technical evaluations and equipment problem resolutions. Responsible for ensuring equipment is operable and available for testing
Required Skills
- Certified communications electrician
- Ability to read, understand and apply technical schematics
- MUST HAVE AN ACTIVE DOD SECRET CLEARANCE OR HIGHER
Required Experience
- BS degree in relevant field or minimum of 10 years' experience within Navy shipboard environment with at least six years demonstrated experience assessing, troubleshooting, and performing corrective and preventive maintenance on systems and equipment. At least one shipboard tour.
- Demonstrated experience working with computer networking switches and routers.
- Possess superior leadership, attention to detail, and organizational skills with the confidence to work independently and to provide efficient response to task deadlines.
