  • Responsibilities

    Position Summary:

    Designs, specifies and quotes requirements for vehicular equipment in accordance with Company policies and Business Unit requirements. Partners with Business Units to assure that all vehicles and related equipment meet required standards and business needs. Oversees the manufacturer's production processes to assure vehicles and equipment meets the applicable specifications. Makes recommendations to improve the processes associated with the design, specifications and quotes of vehicles and related equipment.

    Primary Duties:

    • Assists in the development of the annual bid package preparation and evaluation of bid quotations.
    • Perform pre-paint on-site vehicle/equipment inspections according to Company specifications to ensure vendor compliance with requirements.
    • Conduct pre-manufacturing/blueprint review meetings with vendors and/or customers to assure compliance and needs.
    • Partner with the end user groups and standardization committees in the designing of equipment and vehicles to support end user requirements.
    • Maintain electronic files that contain blueprints, schematics, catalogs, quotations and specifications – to include yearly updates of electronic versions of equipment catalog.
    • Ensure that all equipment specified, quoted and purchased are in compliance with all Federal, State, Local, OSHA, ANSI and Company standards.
    • Lead and facilitate special projects or other specialized activities involving the Fleet organization, Business Unit partners or manufacturers.
    • Develop and recommend annual vehicle allocation list with options and accessories consistent with established policies.
    • Develop and recommend industry and/or manufacturing technologies that improve operator or vehicle efficiency, reduce costs or improves operator safety and health to include green initiatives.
    • Maintain electronic vehicles and equipment in vehicle management systems.
    • Maintain and administer Warranty recovery for vehicles and equipment for both internal and external service and parts providers.
    • Work with Supply Chain organization to improve supplier and manufacturer pricing, delivery, quality and adherence to specifications and standards.

    Requirements:

    • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
    • Five years of experience that includes conducting premanufacturing / blueprint review meetings; experience ensuring all equipment & transactions comply with Federal, State, Local, OSHA, ANSI, and Company standards; and experience maintaining vehicles & equipment in vehicle management systems.
    • Valid State Driver's License.

      Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • Demonstrate high level of proficiency in identifying, resolving and initiating solutions to inaccuracies with new Fleet equipment.
    • Ability to communicate effectively in speech and writing.
    • Operational knowledge of light duty, heavy duty, and hydraulic equipment,
    • Ability to read and understand wiring schematics and equipment drawings.

    Working Conditions:

    • May require travel.

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

    • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

    • Good verbal and interpersonal relations skills.

    • Ability to work in a fast paced, high stress environment.

    • Must be physically agile and strong enough to lift large serving trays.
