    JMT’s Survey department offers an exciting work environment that leverages modern technology (terrestrial/mobile/aerial LiDAR, Drones, robotics, bathymetry, etc.) balanced with sound traditional survey procedures to deliver projects.

    Position Summary: Help field crew leaders perform day-to-day field work. U.S. Residency Required.

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities

    • Learn to operate survey and SUE equipment
    • Assist crew leaders in the performance of daily tasks

    Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities

    • Perform other related duties as assigned

    Required Skills

    Required Experience

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Extensive knowledge in field surveying techniques, including data collection, traverse establishment, GNSS surveys, and construction stakeouts

    Working Conditions

    Field work is required 95% of the time, where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions. Some lifting (up to 50 lbs) may be required as needed.

  • Qualifications

    Working level experience with traffic safety engineering tools and resources such as: Highway Safety Manual, MUTCD, IHSDM and ISATE.

    The ideal candidate will have excellent writing and analytical skills, an understanding of the planning and project development process, be willing to travel occasionally to assist other offices. This position will mentor junior-level traffic engineering staff. Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and:

    • Knowledge and experience with traffic operations
    • Knowledge and experience with traffic safety analysis, conducting RSAs and HSM traffic safety analysis
