    Wilson & Company is seeking a registered professional Electrical Engineer to provide task and project management on a wide range of projects, and to design construction plans, specifications and studies for a variety of projects.  Experience with power, lighting, controls and special systems is needed, along with an understanding of related codes and construction issues.  Projects will include electrical engineering for facilities with an interesting and diverse mix of , Federal, Educational, Industrial, Municipal and Commercial projects. A self-motivating personality with good communication skills is desired. We would expect the candidate to be a lead electrical engineer on projects.

     

    Applicants should have an electrical engineering degree and with 10 or more years’ experience with electrical design of facilities.  A broad knowledge of electrical engineering as it is applied to vertical buildings, power distribution, site lighting/power and overall electrical design for facilities.  The candidate should possess an engineering license.  Proficiency with AutoCAD, MicroStation and/or Revit is a plus along with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to learn and use new software.

    Required Skills

     

    • Coordination of communications between the project team, the engineering and design team members to assure quality of work, and that consistent technical content drawing/design packages are maintained throughout a project.
    • Creation and management of the electrical scope of work for the project.
    • Sizing of overall electrical systems.
    • Specification, selection and purchase of electrical equipment to meet the performance requirements.
    • Integrate packaged equipment into overall system design.
    • Develop and maintain labor and material estimates for projects.
    • Develop and maintain progress, quality control, schedule, staffing planning, and coordination with project management including regular reporting.
    • Oversee development of detailed design drawings including one line diagrams, plans, details, wiring diagrams and fabrication drawings.Proficiency with SKM system analysis software and short circuit and arc flash analysis.

    Required Experience

     

    • 10 or more years of experience with electrical design
    • Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD is a plus
    • B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
    • PE registration
    • Strong written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills
