  • Responsibilities

    Wilson & Company, Inc., Engineers & Architects is currently seeking a full-time Construction Inspector in our San Bernardino, CA office. This person will be responsible for the inspection of specific operations on construction job sites for rail projects. 

     

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    • Coordinate with Program Manager on schedule and location of projects.
    • Must obtain measurements and report progress information and place on an Inspector's Daily Report (IDR).
    • Becomes thoroughly familiar with the plans and specifications for the job to be inspected.
    • Carry out specific instructions on an independent basis and oversee/review the work of others on-site.

     

    Required Skills

    • Must be able to be a good communicator.
    • Must know how to scale and measure distances.
    • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
    • Ability to write simple correspondence.
    • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, contractors and employees of the organization.
    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
    • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Must understand construction surveying procedures and principles.
    • Proficient Computer Skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and other computer software.

    Required Experience

    • Railroad construction experience is preferred. (Training is available)
    • Pre-employment drug screening is required.
    • Bachelors degree in related field preferred.
