    JOB DESCRIPTION

    SUMMARY

    PAYROLL COORDINATOR will be responsible for assisting with payroll.  Responsible in assisting to compile and enter employee data into payroll/time keeping system. 

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    1. New Hire verification and completion from the temp to hire process. Occasionally enter new hire information into Payroll systems and Kronos Timekeeper.

    2. Maintaining and updating employee records within the payroll and timekeeping systems.

    3. Assist with weekly payroll processing and back-up person for the Payroll Administrator.

    4. Garnishment administration.

    5. Bank access for positive pay rejects, stop payments, ACH issues, etc.

    6. Main focal contact for Corporate Cost Control.

    7. Reporting such as New Hire Reporting, Headcount report, etc.

    8. Assist with the PCN processing including retros and address changes.

    9. Process Termination PCNs which includes both UltiPro & Kronos termination, adding PTO pay out to the final pay.

    10. Employment verification that cannot be done through Corporate Cost Control.

    11. Run and audit interfaces between UltiPro and Kronos for employee data records as a back-up.

    12. Process manual checks as authorized and necessary.

    13. Contact various department supervisors for any missed times.

    14. Complying with local, state, and federal tax regulations.

    15. Sort and distribute payroll checks.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY

    This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

    This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.

    POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

    This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.

     

    TRAVEL

    No travel is expected for this position.

     

    SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Minimum of 2 year experience with payroll processing
    • Analytical and data entry skills
    • Microsoft Excel experience required
    • Strong attention to detail/accuracy, thoroughness
    • Experience with running reports from a relational database
    • Strong verbal communication skills and organizational skills
    • High level of discretion to maintain confidentiality at all times.

    • Civil engineering student 
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, primarily Outlook, Word and Excel required.
    • Ability to commute to/from school to the office, and work in an office environment. No remote work anticipated.
    • Capacity to manage and maintain a sustainable balance between school, internship, and personal demands.
