  • Responsibilities

    MAIN OBJECTIVE:

    The main objective of this position is to create and develop test plans for various products in direct support of meeting or exceeding the New Product Development (NPD) and Customer Service (CS) Core Process objectives.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:                                                                            

    • Develops and executes test plans and test cases for products in development. Responsible for test system planning and implementation from initial conception through completion.
    • During design or requirements phase, work with developers in determining what aspects of a design are testable and under what parameters those tests work.
    • Perform unit testing (module testing) of engineering group’s preliminary software builds. Develop optimal unit test cases, both functional (black box) and structural (white box), as well as integration test cases as a means to screen software builds.
    • Conduct product qualification testing (such as system integration, software debugging, compatibility with hardware) and interface with engineering for analysis and problem correction.
    • Develop test methods and test procedures utilizing current equipment or new equipment for hardware and software validation.
    • Create test scripts for automated testing.
    • Establish future guidelines for issues such as testability, regression testing and unit testing.
    • Work closely with engineering and marketing in new product development (NPD) projects. Provide periodic progress reports to project team.  Provide a thorough assessment of the product quality and gauge its fitness for release.
    • Assist engineering and marketing in setting up test platforms to resolve field issues.
    • Perform other required duties as needed in addition to the essential duties and responsibilities described above.

                                 

    JOB DIMENSIONS:

    • Receives work direction from the Controller Qualification Manager, or other designated leader.
    • Ability to take responsibility in decision-making processes regarding new product design and changes/improvements of existing products.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess the ability to perform each duty and responsibility above efficiently.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge and skill set required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or related field.
    • Minimum two years of experience in software testing using sophisticated electronic instruments and testing software. Computer programming a plus.
    • Ability to operate a computer with engineering and business software as well as MS Office products. Toro product knowledge helpful. 
    • Strong statistical background is preferred.
    • Ability to quickly grasp functionality of product. Capable of interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.  Able to use scientific methods to perform work in a professional manner.
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk and hear. Ability to move objects up to 40 pounds.

    ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:                                               

    • Associate Degree
    • Three to five years’ experience providing accounting support to senior level staff.
    • Strong understand of tax programs and ability to assist donors with questions related to tax credits
    • Understanding of the Pennsylvania Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program
    • Attention to detail and accuracy with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Efficiently manage multiple projects and competing priorities with strong time-management skills.
    • Proficient skills using MS Office with strong experience using Excel and Access           
    • Proficient skills using QuickBooks      
    • Maintains positive attitude and demonstrates the utmost in professionalism.
    • The ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
    • Completes work accurately and in a timely manner.
    • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, adapt to changing environment
