    We are looking to hire a seasoned python full-stack developer with experience in data engineering to create and maintain optimal extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) data pipeline architecture for our radical big data analytics platforms that serves the public interest.

    They will collect data from a wide variety of data sources using Python, SQL, NoSQL, and AWS big data technologies. They will participate in every stage of the development from defining the architecture, software design to implementation, testing, deployment and maintenance.

    They will write web microservices and APIs to establish a strong serverless backend supporting the work the frontend developers do.

    A great candidate will be a self-starter with strong work ethic.

    MAIN DUTIES

    • Responsible for creating and maintaining optimal data pipeline architecture.
    • Specializes in developing server-side web application logic, building core features that meet client needs.
    • Building REST APIs and web microservices.
    • Mentor and coach team members.
    • Helping the team make software development and architecture decisions.
    • Partner with our product and design team to define, execute and test technology solutions.
    • Participate in code reviews and pairing.
    • Ensure high quality by unit and integration testing of your work.
    • Extreme attention to detail and ability to self-audit work.
    • Experience in iterative development life cycles.
    • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools (Git and GitHub).
    • Knowledge of best practices for testing/QA.
    • Previous experience building tools & dashboards for public affairs projects is preferred.
    • Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience.
    • Working knowledge of Docker, AWS Fargate, AWS Lambda Functions, or other technologies used to develop serverless apps is a plus.
    • Experience writing professional code in Python, JavaScript, for data collection and analysis.
    • Knowledge of modern front-end framework (React, Angular, Vue, etc) with demonstrated ability to build web applications to visualize data is a plus.
    • Good experience working with MySQL and NoSQL databases like Redis and Elasticsearch.
    • 3+ years of professional software development experience.
