    JOB SUMMARY: The Nuclear Medicine Technologist works collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team and is responsible for providing quality imagine. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist works in support of the Radiologist, providing assistance in the performance of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Responsible for processing and transmission of Images to PACS.

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

    1. One year of acute, clinical radiology experience is preferred.
    2. At least one year of experience as nuclear medicine technologist preferred.
    3. Knowledge of mobile and stationary Radiographic/Fluoroscopic equipment preferred.
    4. Extensive knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology is required.
    5. Graduate of a program accredited by JRCERT.
    6. Current Nuclear Medicine License A.R.R.T or N.M.T.C.B Certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology.
    7. Current BCLS (AHA) required or obtained within 30 days of hire

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Positions patients and set technical factors for all diagnostic procedures. Sets high personal standards for film and image quality.


    Follows department exam protocols.

    Completes all ordered exams per department protocol, documents why exam is not completed per protocol.

    Modifies patient protocols negatic to the patient, physical and cognitive abilities. Discuss these issues with the Radiologist and properly document patient information.

    Ensures all exams are accurately labeled with patient ID, date, technologist ID and time of exam.

    Covers patients during transportation and while performing procedures.

    Ensures compliance with JCAHO/CMS, ACR and State and Federal Regulations.

    Maintains medical and surgical aspetic procedures. Practices good infection control techniques, can fully explain universal pre-caution principle.

    Able to assess pain interfering with imagine procedure, makes appropriate physician contact for intervention.

    Has understanding and participates in PI process.
