    Job Description

Proposal writing is more than responding to requirements. A winning Proposal Writer crafts a story that leads the evaluator through the benefits, the experience, and the most important features of the solution. If you are an experienced proposal writer in the federal government market who loves the challenge of weaving a narrative in a highly technical environment - we have the job for you!

The Proposal Writer works together with the Proposal Manager, Program Manager and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to craft a compelling proposal that is not only compliant to the requirements, but also walks the reader seamlessly through the story and win themes of the proposed solution. You will work closely with Capture and Business Development to understand and incorporate discriminators, features and benefits throughout the proposal effectively and in a way that differentiates the company from competitors.

You must have the personality to reach out across the organization to learn more about the projects and bring that knowledge back to the proposal team. Our process uses an agile writing approach to interview and dispense knowledge into a proposal-friendly presentation. Other skills include:

    • Effective at eliminating superfluous content and clarifying jargon, as well as “fit editing” to stay within required page limits. Corrects grammar, punctuation, sentence structure, spelling, inconsistencies, format, and ensures that content is in active voice as appropriate.
    • Works with the Proposal Manager to structure resume and past performance templates to RFP instructions.

    • Works with the Graphic Artist to proof graphics and collaborate on turning prose into concise and effective illustrations. Collaborate with graphic artist to develop, format, or simplify matrices, tables, and graphics. Confirms that the narrative ties in effectively to supporting graphics and tables, with appropriate references.
    • Check compliance against RFP requirements and participate in status meetings, color reviews, and white glove reviews.
