Job Overview
Technician with a strong background in Windows 11 to assist with the upgrade of operating systems from Windows 10 to Windows 11 across our organization. This role involves assessing current systems, performing upgrades, troubleshooting any issues, and ensuring a smooth transition for all users.
Key Responsibilities
System Assessment
Evaluate existing hardware and software for Windows 11 compatibility.
Prepare inventory reports of all devices requiring upgrades.
Upgrade Process
Execute the upgrade process for Windows 10 to Windows 11 on designated systems.
Ensure the backup of all critical data and settings before proceeding with the upgrade.
Install and configure Windows 11, ensuring all features and functionalities are operational.
Software Installation
Install necessary software applications and post-upgrade tools.
Ensure compatibility of third-party applications with Windows 11.
User Support
Provide expert technical support and guidance to users during and after the upgrade process.
Create user accounts and manage permissions on Windows 11 as needed.
Troubleshooting
Resolve complex issues related to the upgrade process, including hardware, software, and network problems.
Document all troubleshooting steps and solutions for future reference.
Training & Documentation
Assist in training users on the new features and functionalities of Windows 11.
Develop and update training materials and user guides tailored to user needs.
Final Reporting
Compile and submit a report on the upgrade process, user feedback, and any issues encountered.
Recommend improvements based on observed challenges and user experiences.
Qualifications
Educational Background
Associate’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
CompTIA A+
CompTIA Network+
Experience
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a technical support role with a strong focus on Windows 11.
Proven hands-on experience with Windows 10 to Windows 11 upgrades and migrations.
Technical Skills
In-depth understanding of Windows 11, including system architecture, features, and functions.
Familiarity with troubleshooting hardware and software issues specific to Windows 11.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and related software.
Soft Skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Work Environment
This role may require occasional lifting and moving of hardware equipment.
May involve working in various office locations within the organization.

Skills Matrix
· Experience providing help desk support for the Windows operating system, Windows-based applications and databases, and AD account management;
· Experience providing help desk support for iOS devices, iOS-based applications, and iCloud account management;
· Experience configuring, imaging, and deploying Windows based laptops, printers, and desktop assets;
· Experience with workflow management applications such as ZenDesk, ServiceNow, Ivanti, or BMC Helix.

· Experience with endpoint protection and management tools such as Cisco AMP, Absolute, or HP SureClick;
