System Specialist (Windows)

Position Summary
Our client is looking for a System Specialist to join the team! The Specialist will be responsible for Windows upgrades, Windows Patch & Vulnerability Remediation and will provide support with all associated testing prior to deployment, and process improvement.

Requirements:

• Associate degree required or related experience
• Bachelors Degree Preferred
• 1-2 years experience with Microsoft Patching

Basic skills:

• Server and System Engineering
• Has a basic understanding of WSUS
• Current with the latest technologies
• Well-versed in OS types such as Windows 2003, 2008, and 2012 technologies and versions associated with IE in a support application environment
• Extremely document-focused with a high degree of skills in Microsoft Office,
• Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project, Visio, and other tools to show results and demonstrate solutions
• Asset Management experience with tools and process

Experience:

• Experience with Anti-Virus technologies
• Deliver a high-quality IT service including security policies and up-to-date patching for software
• Experience working with Group Policy Administration
• Experience working with: Microsoft Active Directory
• Knowledge of Microsoft products such as SharePoint, UAG, IIS, and SQL server
• Knowledge of authentication methods from application to AD such as NTLM, Kerberos, and LDAP as well as protocols such as SSH, SMTP, SNMP, DNS, HTTP, HTTPS, and network protocols
• Familiar with Microsoft patching schedules and methods
