WINDUP SOLUTIONS is a veteran-owned consulting services organization offering technical guidance to small and medium sized businesses.

We are currently seeking a CYBER SECURITY CONSULTANT to conduct an Infrastructure Security Assessment with one of our strategic customers. Follow-on engagements will become available as they are needed by our customers. Candidates will have experience in consulting with customers in security assessments, designs, and implementation. This is a great opportunity for a skilled security technologist that may not have vast experience running consulting engagements. Windup Solutions will be taking point on customer meetings, documentation QA, and overall delivery of the engagement. The Cybersecurity Consultant will be responsible for conducting the assessment, documentation, and ensuring security methodologies are followed.

AS A NEWLY GROWING COMPANY, THIS POSITION IS OPEN TO 1099 INDEPENDENT CONTRACTORS OR BUSINESSES LOOKING FOR INFREQUENT ENGAGEMENTS/PROJECTS, ALLOWING FOR MOSTLY REMOTE WORK. PAYMENT CAN BE DONE BUSINESS-TO-CONTRACTOR OR B2B. MILESTONE PROJECT RATES WILL BE DISCUSSED DURING THE INTERVIEW.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work with Windup Solutions to assess the customer's environment.

• Conduct penetration testing on all external access points to identify risks.

• Conduct a security review of all Windows-based servers to identify vulnerabilities in patching, port configuration, and sharing permissions.

• Conduct a security review of file sharing configuration and operational delivery.

• Validate whether the customer is making the best use of available technology to keep data and IT assets secure from cyberattack.

• Identify risks and make recommendations that should be implemented by the customer in order of criticality.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 2+ years of related cybersecurity consulting experience, working with multiple customers in assessing, designing, and implementing security solutions.

• Experience successfully managing the security related support of networks, Windows-based systems, and data center hardware.

• Exceptional written and oral communications, with ability to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Able to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information.

• Willing to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement

• Able to pass a background check.

Certifications (2 or more of the following certifications)

• CISSP or similar (ISC)² certification

• Security+

• CEH

• Other security related certifications

EDUCATION

Required:

• High School Diploma

• 2+ years of post-education IT experience in cybersecurity consulting

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in relevant disciplines (Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics or relevant degree).

• Previous experience with a managed service provider or consulting firm
