    Salary (Grade): $16.30 (G14-E)

    Status: Reg. Full-Time (Non Exempt)

    Location: Facilities Department located in Winnebago, Nebraska 68071

    Job Purpose & Position Overview

    This is a semi-skilled position with knowledge of new construction and remodeling projects and repairs. Work involves the performance in assisting the carpenter in various types of construction to include repair tasks following established routines in and around all tribal facilities. Specific instructions are received on all unusual jobs. Occasional heavy lifting is required and work is inspected while in progress and/or upon completion for adherence to instructions and work standards.

    Specific Job Duties/Responsibilities:

    Demonstrates the Winnebago Tribe’s core mission, vision, and values

    Assist in the construction and repairs structural woodwork and equipment in establishment working from blueprints, drawings or instructions.

    Assist in building, repairs, and installs counter cabinets, benches, partitions, floors, doors, building framework and trim.

    Installs glass in windows, doors and partitions.

    Replaces damaged ceiling tile, floor tile and wall coverings.

    Installs small items, such as window shades, venetian blinds, curtain rods, wall fans and door locks.

    Will work in all areas of the Facility department as needed.

    Required Qualifications/Skills:

    Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the Winnebago Tribe’s insurance.

    Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in all phases of the construction industry as it pertains to the carpentry field.

    Must have own tools.

    Must be knowledgeable of blueprint reading.

    Education Preference:

    High School Diploma or G.E.D. is preferred.

    As Directed by management

    Physical Requirements:

    Heavy office work which includes the ability to lift up to 30-50 lbs.

    Regularly required to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods of time and use hands to operate computer keyboard, phone, and various office equipment.

    While performing daily duties, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.

    Ability to work outside in weather extremes.

    Mental Requirements:

    Reading, writing, calculating

    Above average social interaction skills

    Reasoning/Analysis

    Works with minimal to no supervision

    Language Requirements:

    Must possess the ability to read, write, and speak the English language fluently.

    Must be able to continually and effectively employ professional verbal and written communications skills.

    Certificates, Licenses & registrations:
