    Job Purpose & Position Overview

    The Coordinator shall be responsible for the oversight and management of multiple awards related to the Tribes response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Coordinator will be directly responsible for the management of multiple grants including, but not limited to, the Treasury’s CARES ACT funds, funding from the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) and Centers for Disease Control (CDC). This individual will work and report under the supervision of the Tribe’s CFO. The COVID-19 Grant Coordinator will be responsible for administrative duties to include: entering payment information into Intaact, internal monthly reporting, budget monitoring, adhering to grant guidelines and any external reports that need to be completed.

    The Coordinator will also responsible for monitoring and ensuring contract/grant/fiscal compliance and performance by coordinating with various tribal department/program staff, tribal entities, and community groups associated with the grant awards. Additional duties include award close-out procedures, ensuring that available funding resources are properly managed, utilized, and reported, providing assistance to tribe for tribal needs, performing special projects, and performing other duties as required or dictated. Work is performed in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska and the Finance Department.

    Specific Job Duties/Responsibilities:

    Demonstrates the Winnebago Tribe’s core mission, vision, and values

    Work closely with the Chief Financial Officer, Chief Executive Officer, Grants and Contracts office and Tribal Planning Department to monitor contract/grant performance.

    Monitor the financial status of grant funds to ensure requirements are met and achieved.

    Verify that grant expenditures are properly accounted for and utilized in accordance with prescribed terms and conditions.

    Preparing and filing quarterly grant reports.

    Perform general accounting functions in relation to grants as required or dictated.

    Required Qualifications/Skills:

    Associate’s Degree is preferred.

    A minimum of 2 years’ relevant work experience on grants and grants management.

    Familiarity of fund accounting required. Knowledge of federal, state, and local funding and grant requirements is required as well as familiarity with community resources preferred.

    Proficient computer skills are required.

    Requires independence and use of initiative and judgment as applies to accounting, business law, and management concepts.

    Must be well organized with numerical skills and skill in the operation devices using alphanumerical key boards.

    Ability to prepare simplified financial reports from a variety of books and records.

    Ability to apply basic accounting principles to the maintenance of routing financial records.

    Ability to make decisions recognizing established precedents and practices.

    Must have good interpersonal skills and team work attitude.

    Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, and the public.

    Must assume responsibility for accuracy and timeliness of work product.

    Must maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with Tribal Confidentiality Policies and Procedures.

    Demonstrate effective communication, decision-making, leadership, management, critical thinking, analytical, research, information and computer literacy, strategic planning, problem-solving, and time-management skills are required.

    Knowledge and understanding of basic grant management duties.

    Knowledge of grant management best practices is preferred.

    Knowledge of relevant tribal, state, and federal law is preferred.

    Knowledge of Intacct software preferred.

    Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively.

    Ability to problem-solve identified issues within the organization. Must be able to recognize shortcomings and effectively carry out solutions.

    Ability to manage projects from the conceptual stage through completion.

    Ability to operate computers and office management software is required.

    Ability to manage complex tasks and meet timely deadlines with minimal supervision is required.

    Education Preference:

    High School Diploma or G.E.D. is preferred

    Physical Requirements:

    Normal office work which includes the ability to lift up to 10 lbs.

    Regularly required to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods of time and use hands to operate computer keyboard, phone, and various office equipment.

    While performing daily duties, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
