    Job Purpose & Position Overview

    Under the direction of the Food Distribution Coordinator, the Winnebago Food Pantry Coordinator oversees the operations of the Winnebago Food Pantry, including but not limited to supervision and coordination of Winnebago Food Pantry employees and volunteers, purchasing and restocking of food pantry items, cost and quality control, coordination of food delivery program, monthly statistics and reports as required.

    Specific Job Duties/Responsibilities:

    Demonstrates the Winnebago Tribe’s core mission, vision, and values

    Maintains food pantry inventory by placing orders with vendors as well as purchasing food and non-food items from local stores, and or food bank.

    Trains, schedules and provides daily supervision of Winnebago Food Pantry employees and volunteers.

    Coordinates food delivery program, including but not limited to matching employees/volunteers with clients who request delivery, phoning clients to secure their food order, and scheduling volunteers to pick up and deliver orders.

    Updates and modifies Winnebago Food Pantry selection as needed.

    Packs food pantry orders and stocks shelves as needed.

    Responsible for implementing Winnebago Food Pantry policies and procedures.

    Manage food inventory and place weekly orders.

    Be the liaison between Project Atlas, Food Distribution and Winnebago Food Pantry.

    Assure the safety of food storage procedures.

    Represent the Winnebago Food Pantry to the community and attend local events that address hunger awareness and education.

    Coordinates schedules, assists in logging volunteer hours, and gives direction to all staff of the pantry and volunteers.

    Responds to requests for information regarding the Winnebago Food Pantry in a timely manner.

    Gives necessary referrals and information to “out-of-area” clients.

    Assists in coordinating training events for Winnebago Food Pantry volunteers.

    Assists in coordinating food drives with local community partners including churches, schools, communities, and other organizations.

    Complete Winnebago Food Pantry reports monthly and comply with requested reports and inspections of the Winnebago Food Pantry in a timely manner.

    Required Qualifications/Skills:

    Candidate should have experience supervising volunteers or working within a non-profit organization.

    Ability to use all equipment in the pantry including computers, etc.

    Skills in verbal and written communication and the ability to plan and organize multiple work tasks as well as good interpersonal communication skills are essential.

    Two Years of non-profit work experience is preferred.

    Must have basic knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and database software.

    Must have valid driver’s license and be insurable under the Winnebago Tribe’s insurance.

    Education Preference:

    High School Diploma or G.E.D. is preferred.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    Supervises Winnebago Food Pantry workers and volunteers.

    Training Requirements:

    As Directed by management

    Physical Requirements:

    Heavy office work which includes the ability to lift up to 30-50 lbs.

    Regularly required to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods of time and use hands to operate computer keyboard, phone, and various office equipment.

    While performing daily duties, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.

    Mental Requirements:

    Reading, writing, calculating

    Above average social interaction skills

    Reasoning/Analysis

    Works with minimal to no supervision

    Language Requirements:

    Must possess the ability to read, write, and speak the English language fluently.

    Must be able to continually and effectively employ professional verbal and written communications skills.

    Certificates, Licenses & registrations:

    All applicants will comply with 45 CFR 1301, Subpart D, Section 1301.31, C and D, which require all prospective employees to sign a declaration prior to employment regarding all arrests and convictions of child abuse or violent felonies and to comply with PL 101-630 and PL 101-637 regarding criminal records check.
