    Salary (Grade): $15.08 (G12-E) Status: Regular Part-Time (Non-Exempt)

    Location: Substance Abuse Program located in Winnebago NE 68071

    Job Purpose & Position Overview

    Youth Outreach Workers will be responsible for facilitating structured community youth outreach activities which meets the goals, objectives and intents of the program as identified in the Tribal Opioid Response (TOR) Grant.

    Specific Job Duties/Responsibilities:

    Demonstrate the Winnebago Tribe’s core mission, vision, and values.

    Become knowledgeable of the AIHRC program organization, philosophy, functions, policies and procedures, mandated by State/Federal Regulations.

    Work closely with AIHRC administrator to support program goals regarding TOR Grant.

    Organize and implement community youth outreach activities to provide community awareness and educational activities designed to inform local schools, Youth Crisis Intervention Center, Youth Shelter, and Boys and Girls Club about substance Abuse and opioid issues.

    Responsible for keeping a record of each activity/event and furnish a monthly statistical and narrative report.

    Assists clients in completing initial intake forms and assessment process and making sure intake process is accurate and completed in a timely manner.

    Assist clients in learning Native American customs/traditions, spirituality and healthy life values.

    Assist clients in application for Medicaid if eligible.

    Initiate appointments, assisting clients with appointment planning.

    Provides intervention techniques to clients utilizing appropriate referrals and placements.

    Develops working relationships with community programs, inpatient treatment facilities, detoxification units and be knowledgeable of their application and intake procedures.

    Will assist clients and caseworkers in the submission of client application to inpatient treatment centers, making sure applications are complete and all required documents are attached.

    Assist counseling staff in data entry (Accu-care) of clientele, when needed.

    Maintain contact with the medical detox facilities for patient referrals.

    Monitor record keeping procedures to ensure full compliance with federal rules and regulations governing client confidentiality (42CFR).

    Transport clients to pre-treatment quarters, detox center and impatient treatment centers when necessary to aide in their recovery.

    Required Qualifications/Skills:

    High School diploma with two years’ experience in a similar field or AA Degree is required.

    Must be alcohol/drug free and abstain from alcohol/drugs while employed in this position.

    Demonstrate and/or verify substantial knowledge of Winnebago Culture and traditions.

    Must have computer skills in Word, Excel, publisher and web-based data management programs.

    Must demonstrate an interest in promoting a healthy lifestyle in and for the Winnebago Community.

    Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the Tribe’s insurance.

    Must possess skills in leadership, public speaking and group facilitation skills.

    Must possess good verbal and written skills and be able to communicate ideas and concepts adequately.

    Ability to exercise independent judgement and initiative.

    Be willing to work a flexible work schedule when necessary.

    Maintain strict adherence to the confidentiality law and regulations pertaining to clients and program records.

    Pass a federal background check.

    Must be a team player and have a positive attitude.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    Training Requirements:

    Will attend all department meetings and/or training courses as required or directed by management.

    Physical Requirements:

    Must be able to lift 30-50 lbs.

    Regularly required to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods of time and use hands to operate computer keyboard, phone, and various office equipment.

    While performing daily duties, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.

    Ability to work outside in weather extremes.

    Mental Requirements:

    Reading, writing, calculating

    Above average social interaction skills

    Reasoning/Analysis

    Works with minimal to no supervision

    Language Requirements:

    Must possess the ability to read, write, and speak the English language fluently.

    Must be able to continually and effectively employ professional verbal and written communications skills.

    Certificates, Licenses & registrations:
