    Location: Human Services Department in Winnebago, NE 68071

    Job Purpose & Position Overview

    Under the general supervision of the Project Director, the Service Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the administration of the Coordination of Tribal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) and Child Welfare Services to Tribal Families at Risk of Child Abuse and Neglect. The Service Coordinator will be assisting in ensuring that the collaboration between programs and services are in line with project goals and outcomes, as well as reporting and ensuring all funds are in compliance with the project.

    Specific Job Duties/Responsibilities:

    Demonstrate the Winnebago Tribe’s core mission, vision, and values.

    Assist in planning meetings as necessary with Project Program Partners.

    Assist in identify action and strategies to complete the activities of the timeline.

    Assist in reviewing and analyzing assessment information after each activity to monitor progress.

    Assist in on-going communication with management team.

    Will assist Project Director in data collection and analysis done by the Program Partners.

    Will help develop and maintain new and existing organizational relationships.

    Will assist with the coordination of training of tribal/cultural specific programming, staff development and evidence based programs that will be implemented by the Project.

    Attend trainings/webinars/conference calls concerning project as necessary.

    Become knowledgeable of program organization, philosophy, functions, policies and procedures of the Tribe.

    Will assist in Managing project budget and fiscal responsibilities per Tribal and federal regulations.

    Will assist in the completion of grant and submit all required grant reports by due dates.

    Will assist in the submission of monthly report to the PNF Program Manager on progress of the grant.

    Performs other duties as assigned for the purpose of the funding sources.

    Required Qualifications/Skills:

    Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services related field is required with at least one-year experience working with families and community OR an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting the equivalent of one year of full-time professional work experience for each year of the required education to a maximum substitution of four years.

    Must be willing and able to engage in employee training and development of an educational plan.

    One-year experience working with Native Americans is required.

    Must be able to work after normal work hours.

    Must have excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

    Must be timely, dependable, courteous, and maintain a business-like appearance.

    Ability to interact and build rapport with peers and clients, to remain non-judgmental and value and accept differences in people, and to observe, assess and address behavior is required.

    Must possess keyboarding skills for data entry and be computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook).

    Must be able to maintain the strictest confidentiality and will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement.

    Knowledge of Winnebago culture and traditions is highly desirable and a willingness to learn is required.

    Must possess a valid driver's license, maintain valid insurance, and be insurable under the Tribe's insurance policy.

    Ability to pass background check and drug screen

    Training Requirements:

    Attend meetings and trainings as required for program administration and collaboration. May be invited to engage in public speaking, group work, and networking opportunities with other agencies.

    Physical Requirements:

    Normal to Medium office work which includes the ability to lift up to 11-30 lbs.

    Regularly required to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods of time and use hands to operate computer keyboard, phone, and various office equipment.

    While performing daily duties, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.

    Mental Requirements:

    Reading, writing, calculating

    Above average social interaction skills

    Reasoning/Analysis

    Works with minimal to no supervision

    Language Requirements:

    Must possess the ability to read, write, and speak the English language fluently.

    Must be able to continually and effectively employ professional verbal and written communications skills.

    Certificates, Licenses & registrations:

    All applicants will comply with 45 CFR 1301, Subpart D, Section 1301.31, C and D, which require all prospective employees to sign a declaration prior to employment regarding all arrests and convictions of child abuse or violent felonies and to comply with PL 101-630 and PL 101-637 regarding criminal records check.
