Tribal Code Project Coordinator
Reports to: Chief Administrative Officer
Salary (Grade): Depends on Experience
Status: Reg. Full-Time (Non-Exempt)

Job Purpose & Position Overview
The purpose of this position is to be responsible for managing and administering the Tribal Code Development and Revision Project of the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska. Position will have responsibility for program activities, goals and objectives, including programmatic reporting, specific record-keeping related to tribal codes, report writing, project planning, and related project procedures.
Specific Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Organize and Conducts planning meetings as necessary with Project Planning Team members. Includes locating space for conducting meetings and community activities.
Identify action and strategies to complete the activities of the Project timeline.
Will coordinate meetings between planning team and contract attorney on survey outcomes.
Will be responsible for data collected and analysis done by the Planning Team.
Review and edits legal documents as requested by attorney for grammar and content that can be understood by target audience, using technical writing skills.
Coordinate the development and revisions of the Tribal Code with an attorney.
Develops and maintains new and existing organizational relationships.
Attend trainings/webinars/conference calls concerning project as necessary.
Become knowledgeable of tribal organization, philosophy, functions, policies and procedures of the Winnebago Tribe.
Manages project budget and fiscal responsibilities per Tribal and federal regulations.
Complete and submit all required grant reports by due dates.
Submits monthly report to the CAO on progress of the grant.
Performs other duties as assigned for the purpose of the funding sources.
Required Qualifications/Skills:
Bachelor degree preferred; Associate’s degree required with an emphasis on business and/or paralegal field.
Minimum of two years of experience working within a law office setting and/or field.
Strong written, analytical skills, ability to analyze documents, processes, and policies & procedures.
Must be able to work after normal work hours for community activities and meetings.
Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Must be timely, dependable, courteous, and maintain a business-like appearance.
Experience in managing budgets and fiscal responsibilities of a Program or grant project.
Must demonstrate strong computer skills including Word and Excel.
Ability to work with legal consultants to complete updates to the Tribal Code.
Knowledge of Winnebago culture and traditions is highly desirable and a willingness to learn is required.
Must possess a valid driver's license, maintain valid insurance, and be insurable under the Tribe's insurance policy.
Ability to pass background check and drug screen.
Local and national travel may be required.
Ability to work independently with limited supervision and in a team based and goal oriented environment.
Education Preference:
Bachelor’s degree preferred; Associate’s degree required with an emphasis on a business and/or paralegal related field.

Physical Requirements:
Light office work, which includes the ability to lift up to 10 lbs.
Regularly required to walk, stand, and sit for extended periods of time and use hands to operate computer keyboard, phone, and various office equipment.
While performing daily duties, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.

Language Requirements:
Must possess the ability to read, write, and speak the English language fluently.
