Wireless Communications Electrical Engineer (This is not IT)
CBVR Design Group is actively seeking an energetic and knowledgeable individual to fill an Electrical Engineer position for our telecommunications projects. Duties include the development of standard professional electrical engineering design deliverables including performing engineering calculations, engineered drawings and documents, equipment specification, and construction support. This is a senior level position that requires the ability to work independently without supervision with a high level of accountability. Ideally this candidate should have several years of project electrical design experience within the telecommunications tower industry.
Duties:
· Perform load calculations, circuit and conductor sizing calculations, protective device coordination studies, arc flash calculations, etc.
· Complete power distribution plan designs, single-line drawings, grounding plans, panel schedules, cable schedules, cable tray layouts, lighting plans, control narratives, control schematics, interconnect diagrams, heat trace drawings, etc.
· Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills;
· Monitor project status and ensure that system data are accurate, timely, and complete.
· Manage the Coordination, scheduling, and tracking of site visits and technical team visits with various departments
· Ensure that the project teams keep customers informed of project progress, issues and projected completion dates.
Required Qualifications/Skills:
· Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
· 5-10 years of experience with telecommunications/tower power design including medium and low voltage electrical power distribution, motor control, VFDs, lighting systems, equipment layout and related activities.
· Candidate should have a working knowledge of the NEC and related Codes.
· Experience in the design of power generation and distribution for 480V and 15kV systems.
· Proficiency in standard engineering design and office software (AutoCAD, Excel, etc.).
· A work ethic to drive projects and tasks to finish on time, overcoming any obstacles along the way.
· The expertise to solve problems, drawing on your past experience and using existing resources and a desire to take the initiative, seizing opportunities when you see them.
· Highly organized and able to multi-task and work effectively with limited supervision. Highly motivated self-starter able to work under aggressive project schedules.
