    Wisdom Publications is seeking a highly-skilled Office & Customer Support Agent to join our team. This individual will be responsible for answering calls and managing our online customer service platform. They’ll provide product information, troubleshoot technical issues with our website, and help the customer by being informative, empathetic, and eager to quickly solve problems. They’ll also be the caretaker of our West Village office space.

For 35 years, we have published teachings from some of the greatest minds in Buddhism, including His Holiness the Dalai Lama. We publish not only books but also online courses, a free magazine, a podcast, and other content as well. We also have a membership platform, the Wisdom Experience, and host live events at our New York space.

    • Enthusiastic about becoming an expert on how our website works, so you can best assist customers.

     

    REQUIRED SKILLS

    • 3+ years of experience in customer service is desirable

    • Bachelor’s degree

    • Excellent at communicating over the phone and handling phone systems

    • Basic computer skills and experience with tracking and recording call information, filing documents or updating customer profiles/accounts

    • Excellent time management and prioritization skills

    • Ability to answer the phone, listen actively, relay information, and type basic information simultaneously

    • Customer-focused for positive customer experience and resolution

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Care and maintenance of the office space. Includes processing mail (sorting incoming mail, sending outgoing mail, including trips to post office/UPS/etc.), keeping the kitchen clean and tidy, welcoming visitors and making them feel at home, light cleaning, managing any required maintenance.

    • As the face of our office, you’ll be the main contact point for both contractors and visitors.

    • Will involve walking up and down stairs and lifting and carrying objects (e.g. chairs).

    • Monitor and care for a sizable office space.

    • Memorize, recall, or research answers quickly.

    • Learn and follow all customer service procedures and policies.

    • Record, organize, and file customer interactions and profile/account changes.

    • Address returns, refunds, and shipping tracking numbers.

    • Occasional evening and weekend events where you will serve as a host for our special guests and attendees, including but not limited to managing administrative details related to the event and greeting attendees.
