Job description Wishbone Pet Rescue Alliance is a non-profit animal rescue organization responsible for providing animal adoption services to the Allegan County Animal Shelter (Allegan, Michigan) and cat care and adoption services at the Wishbone House (Douglas, MI) cat adoption center.

Animal Caretaker will be responsible for the overall care and well-being of the cats at the Wishbone Pet Rescue Alliance, Douglas, MI, cat adoption center, with responsibilities for kennel cleaning and feeding of cats.

Responsibilities

Handle general care tasks such as feeding and kennel cleaning of the animals

Create intake paperwork for all animal intakes

Create/update kennel card for all new animal intakes

Keep records of animal feedings, treatments, and other updates

Keep up daily laundry and cleaning for animal health

Engage in enrichment activities and exercise with the animals

Maintain a clean and healthy environment

Provide weekly inventory list for animal food and shelter supplies

Qualifications:

Previous experience in animal care or other related fields is preferred

Passion for helping and treating animals

Ability to follow protocols and direction from the operations supervisor

Ability to interact with animals in a calm, non-threatening manner

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Able to work self-motivated, as well as team-oriented, as job needs develop

Ability to lift 30 pounds unassisted regularly, 30 pounds assisted

Hours per week:

24-32

Saturday & Sunday mornings are required for this role

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $12.00 per hour
