Job description ( Full Time)
Senior Animal Caretaker will be responsible for the overall care and well-being of the animals at the Allegan County Animal Shelter for kennel cleaning/walking/feeding of animals.
Responsibilities
Hands-on role working with and managing kennel staff for daily cleaning to meet shelter health standards.
Handle general care tasks such as feeding and grooming of the animals
Assist in restraining animals for veterinary management
Create intake paperwork for all animal intakes
Provide intake vaccination/prevention for animals
Keep records of animal feedings, treatments, and other updates
Keep up daily laundry and cleaning for animal health per state mandates
Engage in play activities and exercise with the animals
Maintain a clean and healthy environment
Provide weekly inventory list for animal food and shelter supplies
Develop a weekly schedule for kennel staff
Qualifications:
Previous supervisory experience is required.
Previous experience in animal care or other related fields preferred
Passion for helping and treating animals
Ability to follow protocols and direction from Operational Manager
Ability to interact with animals in a calm, non-threatening manner
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, stressful environment
Able to work self-motivated, as well as team-oriented, as job needs develop
Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted regularly, 50 pounds assisted

Pay: From $14.00 per hour, depending on experience.
