    Job Description

    The Wishtoyo Foundation is a native-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to address modern day environmental issues by preserving and protecting the ancient wisdom of Chumash culture and inspiring the public and its youth to take responsibility for sustaining the health of the natural resources all people depend upon. Wishtoyo’s holistic and inclusive approach integrates education, outreach, restoration, advocacy, and legal action, bringing spiritual, cultural, and environmental tools together to make our communities and the world a more sustainable place.

    Wishtoyo is seeking a Development Associate to join our team. The Development Associate will play an important role in supporting Wishtoyo’s mission through fundraising efforts. Strong candidates will be a self-starter who has excellent communication skills and the ability to multi-task. As a small organization our team often wears many hats, working collaboratively to achieve our goals. The Development Associate will report to the Director of Development and Senior Management. Primary responsibilities will support fundraising efforts including, but not limited to, events, major gifts, grants, sponsorship, membership, campaigns and communications.

    Responsibilities include:

    · Donation Tracking

    · Donor Communication

    · Social Media

    · Membership Program

    · Sponsorship Program

    · Board reports & communications

    · Media

    · Event support

    · Major Gifts Prospecting and Support

    · Donor Outreach

    · Annual Report Support

    · Campaign Development & Support

    · Other development and administrative duties as needed

    Skills and Experience:

    · Bachelor’s degree required

    · At least two years of experience in nonprofit work, preferably in development

    · Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

    · Strong communication skills

    · Experience in events, media, and campaigns

    · Ability to meet deadlines

    · Attention to detail and strong organizational skills

    Non-Exempt, Full-time employee, benefits eligible position. Salary DOE.
