The Bar Harbor Inn is looking to expand our culinary team for the 2021 season.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

· Prepares menu items for broiling, grilling, frying, sautéing, or other cooking methods by portioning, battering, breading, seasoning and or marinating.

· Follows proper plate presentation and garnish set up for all dishes.

· Handles, stores, and rotates all products properly.

· Assists in food preparation assignments during off-peak periods as needed.

· Closes the kitchen properly and follows the closing checklist for kitchen sanitation and assists others in closing the kitchen.

· Checks and maintain proper food holding and food temperature control points.

· Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement.

· Preforms other related duties as assigned.

Skills Required:

Ability to work well with others (i.e. interacts appropriately with guests and staff.) Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks safely and efficiently, communicate effectively, ability to learn and adapt to change.

Experience / Education:

High school degree or equivalent. Minimum one year kitchen experience. Serve Safe Certificate Preferred.

Physical Demands:

This is a very physically demanding job that requires extended periods of walking, standing, bending, lifting, twisting, and kneeling. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
