The Comfort Inn Ellsworth-Bar Harbor is seeking an experienced individual to join their team as Maintenance Technician. This is a full-time year-round hourly position, eligible for benefits.

 As the only Maintenance Technician on the property, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the maintenance department, ensuring that all areas of the hotel property are well maintained to maximize guest satisfaction.

 You must be able to take initiative, communicate effectively and display problem solving skills while providing excellent customer service.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

● Promptly identifying, communicating and resolving maintenance issues.

●General repair of plumbing, PTAC units, room furniture, bathroom fixtures and tile, painting, wall vinyl, electric locks, television, and carpentry as needed. 

● Scheduling, assigning, and performing preventive maintenance & repairs. 

 ●Demonstrating and/or acquiring a thorough knowledge of the building systems including: fire alarm, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems along with their proper maintenance.

 ● Maintains landscaping and building interior & exterior to brand and company standards.

 ● Responds to guest concerns or complaints in a timely and courteous manner.

 ● Daily verification and communication to Front Desk. 

 ● Arrive to work in appropriate work attire (uniform, foot wear, name tag) neat and professional in appearance.

● Performs additional duties as assigned.

 FLEXIBILITY REQUIRED:  ● Must be able to work flexible shifts, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays.

 ● Hours, shifts and schedules change based on volume and demands of business.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

 ● Knowledge and use of basic hand and power tools required.

 ●Requires solid leadership working knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, HVAC and painting ●Must have solid decision making, and problem solving skills. 

●Excellent customer service skills.

 EXPERIENCE / EDUCATION:

 ●The ideal candidate has a minimum of 1 year of experience in general building maintenance or equivalent in a trade profession
