WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE  

The QA Data Analyst will be responsible for obtaining, cataloging, and analyzing QA testing data to support the production, procurement, research, and technical services team.  This position will work across multiple software and physical report systems to collect the data as required to support the quality and food safety processes and projects.  Data will often need to be summarized or presented in a manner showing trends, specification compliance, or other statistical measures for projects as needed.

 WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR  

JOB DUTIES:

• Maintain appropriate databases and logs to comply with record retention requirements
• Analyze numerical and textual data to support projects and on-going report requirements
• Escalate out of specification or unusual data results to the necessary personnel in a timely manner
• Ensure data is entered and analyzed to support timely restriction or release of products or ingredients.
• Communicate results to necessary personnel in a timely manner.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Ability to analyze data electronically and physically
• Ability to use Microsoft Office tools including Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Access, Publisher, etc.
• Ability to understand and calculate statistical relationships such as mean, mode, standard deviation, Cpk, range, and histograms
• Ability to work accurately on multiple datasets if needed

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  

• Education in statistics, data analysis, or scientific discipline
  1. Bachelor’s degree preferred, sufficient experience in school or workplace is acceptable.
• Math skills combined with the ability to perform and understand statistical tests and results
• Ability to read, write and speak English
• Knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Office Excel, Word, etc.
• Communicate and interact well with others in the laboratory and manufacturing environment
• Able to work over 40 hours, weekends and flexible hours when business need arises
• Ability to work with minimal supervision

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:  

• Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following areas: Statistics, Engineering, Process Control, Chemistry, Biostatistics, Engineering
• 3+ yrs experience in Quality Assurance in the fresh produce or food-processing environment
• Experience in Lean Management

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:   

• Occasional standing, walking, sitting, handling product
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in both hot and cold environments

HOURS & WORKDAYS:

• Swing - variable Days, variable shift depending on production schedule and factory needs.   Shifts will be approximately 8.5 hours
