Ambulatory Application Specialist - Information Systems
Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
Responsible for interdepartmental use of assigned Meditech Modules. Provides build, configuration, implementation, and optimization services for Meditech Modules. Prior experience with Meditech Expanse or Medical Ambulatory front office and billing. Acts as liaison between the user, programming, and operations for assigned modules. Ensures system security and system data integrity through menu and dictionary maintenance. Analyzes changes and enhancements to modules and determines their effect on other modules and interfaced systems. Works closely with other Applications Consultants, users, and departments. Works with outside agencies such as insurance carriers, regulatory agencies, and independent consulting and research groups, as required. Performs other duties assigned by department management according to policies and procedures and the mission of Woman's Hospital.
JOB KNOWLEDGE:
Requires knowledge of clinical applications; revenue cycle, coding/abstracting, claims, physician front, and back office, and familiarity with Meditech, medical terminology, and clinical operations is preferred. Requires excellent communication skills.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
An undergraduate degree with course work in healthcare computer science preferred; or 3 to 5 years of experience in clinical computer documentation development, the majority of which must be specialized in healthcare.
PAY RANGE:
$25.20 - $36.54
