    Job Description

    The Wonderfund is a small, high-energy, entrepreneurial non-profit organization whose mission is to provide emergency aid and enrichment opportunities to children who have endured abuse, neglect, and trauma, or who are at risk of doing so.  We are seeking a highly-organized, positive, trustworthy individual with a strong work ethic and eagerness to learn to join our team, help more children, and have fun while doing so!

     

    DEVELOPMENT & OPERATIONS MANAGER: BECOME AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE WONDERFUND TEAM - A SMALL NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION WITH BIG GOALS.  The Development Manager manages the donor database; provides executive support to the Development Team; supports the operations of the organization; and focuses on donor cultivation and stewardship, donor communications, annual drives, and special events. 

       

    CONTRIBUTE TO THE FUNDRAISING SUCCESS OF THE ORGANIZATION, INCLUDING:

    1. Manage Donor Database: Become the organization’s database expert.  Consistently maintain up to date information for all existing and prospective donors.  Ensure all donor conversations, pledges, and payments are inputted with a sense of urgency. Create reports that have a meaningful impact on the success of the fundraising strategy.
    2. Manage Donor Communications: Oversee gratitude schedule, including thank you notes and emails from the principals to donors; draft thank you notes; create donation anniversary alerts; draft donor updates; help to create a comprehensive communications schedule.  
    3. Process donations and pledges.
    4. Seek out and apply for grant opportunities.
    5. Oversee and Manage the Corporate and Foundation donation process.
    6. Secure, schedule, and attend donor meetings when appropriate.
    7. Create online fundraising campaigns.
    8. Staff fundraising events.
    9. Maintain lists, gather and prepare materials and other duties as assigned for Development events.
    10. Handle all administrative details associated with the Development Team (i.e. prepare and distribute notices, reports, agendas, minutes, etc.)
    11. Provide support for the Finance and Administration team in the reconciliation of gift entry and providing all documentation needed for the annual audit and tax preparation.
    12. Responds to member and donor phone calls and emails.
    13. Other duties as assigned.

     

    ENSURE THE ORGANIZATION IS SET UP FOR SUCCESS OPERATIONALLY, INCLUDING:

    1. Provide administrative support to the organization, including:

      1. Manage Wonderfund general calendar, calendar invites, and team schedule.
    2. Meeting support - send invites, prepare handouts, set up boardroom, take notes when appropriate, order food, generate follow up. 

    3. Field phone calls.

    4. Order office supplies and maintain vendor relations. 

    5. Travel throughout MA for Wonderfund drives and events.

    6. Provide support and organizational help for a variety of different types of events.

    7. Manage general email inbox; respond or route when appropriate. 

    8. Maintain filing system.

     THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WOULD HAVE:

    ●      BA or BS from accredited 4-year college.

    ●      2-5 years of experience that includes fundraising, operations, or database management.

    ●      Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Database management.

    ●      Exceptional organizational skills.

    ●      Great initiative, drive, and self-starter qualities.

    ●      Excellent verbal and written communications skills with close attention to detail.

    ●      Ability to present information concisely and effectively, both verbally and in writing.

    ●      Excellent interpersonal skills with emphasis on customer service.

    ●      Confidence and professionalism in speaking and corresponding with donors.
