    Barbatella is looking for a creative and experienced Wood-Fired Pizza Chef
    The ideal candidate needs proven wood-fired oven experience, strong skills in dough preparation and pizza assembly, excellent knife skills, proficiency in food safety and hygiene, the ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen, good communication, and flexibility to work various shifts. Experience in a restaurant setting and formal culinary training are highly desirable.

    Technical Skills & Experience

    • You need hands-on experience using wood-fired or brick ovens, as well as knowing how to monitor and maintain their temperatures.
    • Mastery of pizza dough preparation, shaping, and topping is essential.
    • Proficiency with knives for slicing and dicing ingredients is a must.
    • A broad understanding of cooking techniques beyond just baking.

    Kitchen & Work Environment Skills

    • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and maintaining a clean, sanitary kitchen environment are critical.
    • The ability to work efficiently and maintain speed and professionalism in a fast-paced, demanding kitchen is necessary.
    • Good organizational skills are needed for ingredient prep, managing inventory, and keeping stations clean and stocked.

    Interpersonal & Professional Skills

    Clear and effective communication is vital for working with a kitchen team and sometimes with guests.

    A spirit of teamwork and the ability to collaborate effectively with other staff members are important.

    A willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, is often a requirement.
