We are seeking a skilled and passionate Wood-Fired Pizza Cook (Pizzaiolo) to join our kitchen team. This role is responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality wood-fired pizzas while maintaining the integrity of traditional techniques, speed of service, and kitchen cleanliness. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in craftsmanship, consistency, and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook pizzas in a wood-fired oven, maintaining proper temperature, fire control, and timing
Stretch dough by hand and assemble pizzas according to restaurant recipes and standards
Monitor oven heat, manage wood supply, and maintain safe fire practices
Execute consistent, high-quality pizzas during high-volume service
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation in compliance with health codes
Assist with prep work including dough, sauces, toppings, and mise en place
Communicate clearly with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service
Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards at all times
Contribute to a positive, professional kitchen culture
Qualifications & Skills
Previous experience as a pizza cook or wood-fired oven cook required
Knowledge of dough handling, fermentation, and wood-fired cooking techniques
Ability to work in high heat and stand for extended periods
Strong attention to detail and consistency
Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
Team-oriented with a strong work ethic and positive attitude
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Comfortable working near high-temperature ovens
Ability to stand, bend, and move quickly during service
