    We are looking for an experienced legal assistant who can help the busy attorneys and paralegals at our law office assist our clients. You’ll be responsible for managing office correspondence, including answering phone calls and emails, arranging meetings and travel, and ensuring our legal team is aware of upcoming deadlines. You’ll also assist with preparing legal documents and contracts, and perform any other tasks as needed to ensure our firm is operating efficiently. Responsibilities: Take care of administrative tasks and office correspondence by answering phone calls and emails, communicating with opposing attorney offices, taking dictation, and informing the team of upcoming deadlines Be willing to take on any other necessary administrative tasks to help the firm run smoothly Conduct legal research, when necessary, with guidance from attorneys and paralegals Help with creating a variety of litigation documents, including pleadings, motions, subpoenas, affidavits, contracts, and briefs for case preparation, and proofread documents when necessary • Responsible for the client’s intake process which involves filling out forms and collecting the appropriate data for the file. • Opens the case and uploads the files to the case management solution. • Helps coordinate client’s repairs and medical treatment with a network of providers. Continues to maintain regular contact with providers to obtain updated records. • Does initial contact with both client’s and opposing party’s insurance companies. • Will coordinate to obtain all medical records and bills for preparation of demand. • Responsible for providing clients with regular updates (at least every two weeks) regarding the status of the case. Qualifications: 1-2 years of prior experience in a law firm environment as a secretary or administrative assistant Must be able to type at least 50 WPM Ability to comfortably use all Microsoft Office products Applicants must have excellent communication skills and organizational skills Compensation: $17 - $20 hourly
