    Job Description

    The Vice President, Head of Americas Gas & LNG Consulting, is a senior leader in our global Gas & LNG consulting practice. The role holder will lead and develop a regional team of Gas & LNG specialist consultants and play a key role in growing the practice. You will have involvement in all aspects of the consulting process, from shaping and pitching client engagements, directing projects, and working closely with clients and other Wood Mackenzie experts to form insights to support our clients’ critical strategic insight and commercial decisions.

    The Gas & LNG practice delivers commercial and strategic engagements spanning ranges of gas and LNG topics through the value chain, including a growing number of engagements answering key questions about decarbonization and the energy transition. Our clients range through the industry, including core industry participants, the governments that host them, and the investors/lenders that finance them.

    The role requires a combination of team leadership, client relationship management, business winning capabilities, and project delivery to create value for our clients and Wood Mackenzie. In addition, you will build practice capabilities in the Americas and globally through leading internal initiatives to develop thought leadership, expanded or new consulting offerings, and our people. You will engage frequently with senior client teams and occasional travel throughout the Americas region will be required.

    Main Responsibilities

    • Lead the Americas Gas & LNG consulting practice
      • Manage and develop Americas Gas & LNG team members, ranging from senior business developers and subject matter experts to project managers to developing consultants
      • Develop and implement client and business development plans for Gas & LNG across the Americas
      • Own team financial performance and pipeline management
      • Own delivery standards for the team’s projects, ensuring they are delivered to clients with high quality standards, and on time and on budget
      • Develop and implement plans to create or enhance offerings in line with global Gas & LNG strategic objectives
      • Lead recruitment efforts for the team, and lead the team to develop Gas & LNG content knowledge for junior consultants
      • Support broader Americas resource allocation from the Gas & LNG perspective, working with counterparts leading the other sectors within Americas
      • Work with counterparts across the Americas segment teams for cross-sector opportunities in region
    • Win business and deliver Gas & LNG consulting engagements
      • Drive proposal efforts for consulting engagements
      • Build and nurture networks and relationships in the industry
      • Manage client relationships and expectations during engagements and ensure commitments to the client are met
      • Lead client projects, working with clients and our Wood Mac team to ensure high quality, insightful results that support our clients’ strategic decisions
      • Generate innovative ideas and approaches to industry issues that further enhance the value Wood Mackenzie can create for our clients
    • Active participant in Gas & LNG consulting leadership
      • Contribute to maintenance and development of global gas & LNG offerings
      • Identify structural opportunities for gas & LNG consulting based on client feedback and market dynamics; bring Americas-focused market trends and opportunities to global discussions
      • Work with counterparts across gas & LNG team on cross-region business development opportunities and cross-region project execution
      • Leverage best practices and offering development across regional gas & LNG teams; contribute best practices from the Americas
      • Partner with counterparts in the rest of the Gas & LNG sub-segment (notably Research and Sales) to deliver close collaboration, develop content, and build Wood Mackenzie’s Gas & LNG business

    • Possess a strong understanding of client needs and how Woodmac can serve them, including deep knowledge of the gas & LNG value chain, including business models and strategies of different company types in the industry
    • Demonstrate strong presentation skills, including presenting strategic insight to senior management and potential for public speaking engagements at industry conferences
    • Consulting experience with a strong knowledge of project related processes is preferable
