Job Description
The Head of Oils & Chemicals Assets will be responsible for leading a large team and product set within our Global Oils & Chemicals business. The individual will be responsible for a broad product portfolio of asset modelling, benchmarking and evaluation tools, setting the strategic direction of our Oils & Chemicals Asset solutions, leading an experienced group of Refining and Petrochemical industry experts, managing teams across multiple time-zones and ultimately contributing to the commercial success of our Oils & Chemicals business. The role is also responsible for ensuring deliverables are of a consistently high standard and meet the needs of our broad customer base; partnering with Sales and Marketing to maximise the commercial success of the Assets services; and working with Consulting to deliver bespoke client projects.
In addition, the role holder is accountable for the effective collaboration across teams with other sectors/specialist areas, such that there is close alignment on cross-team or pan-sectoral issues, and client expectations are addressed. Furthermore, the successful candidate will be a role model for Wood Mackenzie values and culture, nurturing good practice and seeking continuous improvement.
This role reports to the head of Oils & Chemicals and will play a key part within the Oils & Chemicals leadership team, ultimately ensuring the success of our Oils & Chemicals business.
Main Responsibilities
· Your primary function is the holistic ownership of the Oils & Chemicals Assets business, with ultimate accountability for the overall success of its people, content, and products. This includes:
· Leading a diverse team, across many time-zones and locations that is delivering great content to our customers as they navigate their way through the energy transition to a low carbon economy.
· Developing a high-performance culture and highly engaged team.
· Ensuring the quality of our Asset analysis is maintained and enhanced meeting the changing needs of our customer base.
· Partnering with the Head of Markets and senior SMEs to deliver a research agenda that meets the needs of our customers.
· Overseeing and managing projects to deliver more value to customers and to create efficiency within our operations.
· Supporting the development of our next generation of client solutions (including Lens).
· Working with peers across other industry segment teams (Commodity Trading, Hydrogen, CCUS, Gas & LNG, etc.) to deliver leading integrated analysis.
· Supporting the delivery of bespoke consulting projects with Asset team resources as necessary.
· Maintaining a range of senior-level relationships with clients and industry participants to enhance WoodMac’s industry leading analysis and expertise.
Qualifications
You are a proven leader with a passion for developing people, a track record in delivery and you thrive in a high performance, collaborative, commercial environment.
· You understand commodity market and asset fundamentals, ideally with a focus on Oils & Chemicals, and how the use of data, models, analytics and advice can support strategic and commercial decision making.
· Experience with commercial analysis of energy industry assets plus near- and long-term market forecasting and the data and analytics that is required to support our customer’s strategic and operational needs would be of benefit.
· You will need the ability to develop robust business proposals, present competently to customers and internal stakeholders, providing insights related to complex data effectively.
· A team player with natural curiosity, who thrives in a collaborative, analytical environment, and who can project manage effectively.
