    JOB DESCRIPTION

    The Software Engineer will be responsible for creating and maintaining the demand forecasting processes and models supporting Genscape’s existing and future products.  Currently, there are about one hundred demand models requiring maintenance.

    The Software Engineer will be responsible for the implementation of our product development effort and model improvement program.  Our analytical models incorporate thousands of data parameters and detailed market information to model energy flows and pricing based on key market drivers.

    DELIVERY

    ·       Contribute to the implementation and delivery with testing, coding, documentation, and deployment

    ·       Triage bugs, identify problems before development, and work towards fixes

    ·       Follow coding best practices including code reuse and readability

    ·       Work as part of a delivery team to meet sprint goals and help plan for future work

    COLLABORATION

    ·       Work with team members to perform scoping, estimation and technology feasibility tasks

    ·       Manage changes to requirements and defects with Product Owners and other stakeholders

    ·       Work in collaboration with test engineers to triage, manage and resolve issues and defects

    ·       Pair program in development and work across traditional QA boundaries

    ·       Work alongside AppOps to have infrastructure as configuration deployable and maintainable

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    ·       2+ years of experience with Python, Airflow, Docker, Kubernetes, SQL Databases. NoSQL databases and JavaScript is a plus.

    ·       Experience developing systems using distributed systems like Kafka, Zookeeper, Elastic Search is a plus

    ·       The candidate is expected to be able to manage his/her workload to fit for the best needs of the company.

    ·       The candidate is also expected to have good communication skills to manage relationships with internal clients.

    ·       BS in mathematics, statistics, engineering, computer science or related required.
