JOB SUMMARY
Receives payment for service and parts transactions and plays a key role in maintaining or creating customer satisfaction.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Greet customers at the cashier window in a pleasant and professional manner
- Compute customer bills
- Receive cash, checks and credit card payments from customers; records amount received
- Make change and issue receipts to customers
- Provide cash refunds or credit memorandums to customers for returned merchandise
- Reconcile cash drawer daily
- Refer customers who have questions about the work performed, additional maintenance or repairs, etc. to the service advisor or other appropriate individual
- Handle customer complaints with integrity and poise and, when necessary, refer dissatisfied customers to the appropriate individuals for resolution
- Maintain and file repair orders, parts invoices, rental forms; list missing documents
- Assist service department with telephone coverage
- Provide clerical and secretarial assistance to parts and service departments
- Work with department manager to keep abreast of new products and services offered, their features and value, and any changes in price
- Work with outside warranty companies to secure payment
