SUMMARY: The Room Service Server is responsible for taking guests’ orders over the phone and delivering food & beverage to guest rooms. They are responsible for ensuring accurate food orders as well as timely delivery. The In-Room Dining Server will assist in maintaining the AAA Four Diamond Standards and will always conduct their self in manner which supports the guiding principles of Destination Hotels.
The In-Room Dining Server shall strive to provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests at all times. They are responsible for exemplifying the Woodmark Hotel Culture.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Takes guest room service orders over the phone
Delivers all food and beverage items to guests
Assists with preparing food trays; ensure proper appearance standards
Carries room service trays to guest rooms
Removes serving trays from guests rooms, entering if necessary
Maintains an up-to-date working knowledge of all amenities and notifying housekeeping of any issues
Provides assistant to hotel staff as needed
Maintains daily checklist and inspection
Completes opening, ongoing and closing sidework
Attends mandatory monthly department meetings, appropriate hotel and division meetings
Communicates with kitchen staff to ensure guest satisfaction
Removes serving trays from guest rooms
Engages in friendly and professional conversation with guests
Addresses any guest issue promptly and with great concern
Provides general hotel information for guests
Maintains an up-to-date working knowledge of all hotel amenities as well as any special events
Interacts with hotel staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments with necessary information
Up sells other hotel services and amenities to guests
Provides assistance to restaurant staff as needed
Maintains constant awareness of safety issues; reports all safety incidents to on-duty supervisor
Acts with responsibility towards all company property, supplies and equipment.

Remains alert, courteous and helpful to the guests and colleagues at all times.
Performs other duties as assigned
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
High school education required
Prior food and beverage experience preferred
At least one year customer service experience preferred
At least six months POS system experience preferred
JOB REQUIRMENTS:
Must be a United States citizen or possess a valid work permit
Must be able to read, write and speak English
Must be detail-oriented and able to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
Must be able to accurately follow verbal and written instructions
Must possesses excellent communication skills
Must have strong computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
Must be professional in appearance and demeanor
Must be self-motivated, taking initiative for their department
Must have or be able to obtain prior to start date a valid Washington Food Handler’s permit
Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidays
Must have the ability to effectively interact with guests and associates; resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner
Must have a passion for creating an exceptional experience for all guests
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, snow, sun, heat);
Must be able to work indoors or outside;
Must be able to stand on feet and walk throughout the day,
Must be able to climb stairs and walk on uneven surfaces on an occasional basis;
Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 25 lbs at shoulder height,
Must be able to bend, squat, push, pull frequently;
Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand & arm movements frequently; squeezing and overhead reaching occasionally
