SUMMARY: The Busser is responsible for clearing and resetting tables as well as assisting food servers in providing exceptional service to guests. They assist with clearing tables, refilling water, serving bread, and restocking clean plates, silverware, and glassware. The Busser will assist to maintain the AAA Four Diamond Standards.

The Busser shall strive to provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests at all times. They are responsible for exemplifying the Woodmark Hotel Culture as well as promoting Woodmark Hotel as the Destination and Employer of Choice!
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Clears and resets tables according to specifications of restaurant standards
Adheres to steps of service using the service standards manual
Ensures silverware is polished and china/glassware are not chipped
Notifies server when bringing coffee, tea or other beverages to tables to ensure proper charges; informs server of any potential guest issues; refills beverages as needed.
Completes all opening, on-going and closing side work and manager on duty as signed off on work
Maintains an up-to-date knowledge of all menus and specials; answers questions and/or makes recommendations on menu items
Performs food preparation duties such as bread & butter set-ups, condiment preparation, filling water & ice tea pitchers and any other prep as needed
Verifies the table positions are correct; and the floor around the tables is clean and free of debris
Assists servers with monitoring tables for customer satisfaction, quality and additional service
Addresses any guest issue promptly and with concern
Maintains constant awareness of safety issues; reports all safety incidents to on-duty supervisor
Performs other duties as assigned
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
High school education required
Prior food and beverage experience preferred
At least six months customer service experience preferred
JOB REQUIRMENTS:
Must be a United States citizen or possess a valid work permit
Must be at least 16 years of age
Must be able to read, write and speak English
Must possesses excellent listening and communication skills; be able to accurately follow verbal and written instructions
Must be professional in appearance and demeanor
Must be able to work under pressure in a fast paced environment
Must possess a valid Washington Food Worker Card
Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidays
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Must be able to stand and walk throughout the shift
Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 25 lbs at shoulder height; and occasionally lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to occasionally push/pull up to 75 lbs
Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, overhead reaching, and repetitive hand & arm movements frequently; and squeezing occasionally
