Join the Woodmark Hotel's Beach Cafe as a host or hostess! Restaurant experience is great--but we love to train new team members with the right attitude! The host position is an hourly position that receives tips. We are looking for people with flexible schedules.
The Host Person shall strive to provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests at all times. They are responsible for exemplifying the Woodmark Hotel Culture as well as promoting Woodmark Hotel as the Destination and Employer of Choice!
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Greets and seats incoming guests
Escorts every guest to table, hands out menus and ensures table(s) are properly set up
Plans and coordinates timely seating of guests
Takes reservations in person and over the phone, using professional language at all times
Cleans and resets tables as needed
Provides guests with high chairs, booster seats, etc.
Maintains cleanliness of work areas
Answers restaurant telephone, responding to guests’ questions in a professional manner
Assists servers, bussers with refilling beverages and/or clearing tables
Notifies servers of guests’ special requests, events, etc.
Completes all assigned side-work, obtaining manager’s signature when complete
Assists servers with monitoring assigned tables for customer satisfaction, quality and additional service
Maintains an up-to-date working knowledge of all hotel amenities as well as any special events
Offers guests assistance hotel directions, activity suggestions, etc.
Provides assistance to restaurant staff as needed
Performs other duties as assigned
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
High school education required
Prior food and beverage experience preferred
At least six months customer service experience preferred
JOB REQUIRMENTS:
Must be a United States citizen or possess a valid work permit
Must be able to read, write and speak English
Must be able to accurately follow both verbal and written instructions
Must possesses excellent listening and communication skills
Must be professional in appearance and demeanor
Must be able to work under pressure in a fast paced environment
Must have strong computer skills, with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Must have or be able to obtain prior to start date a valid Washington Food Handler’s permit
Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidays
Must have a passion for creating an exceptional experience for all guests
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, snow, sun, heat);
Must be able to work indoors or outside;
Must be able to stand on feet and walk throughout the day,
Must be able to climb stairs and walk on uneven surfaces on an occasional basis;
Must be able to frequently lift and carry up to 25 lbs at shoulder height,
Must be able to bend, squat, push, pull frequently;
Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand & arm movements frequently; squeezing and overhead reaching occasionally
