    Work Control Manager

    Location: Aiken, SC (Savannah River Site) – Onsite
    Department: Operations
    Reports To: Operations Director
    Compensation: $130,000 – $170,000 base salary

    Position Overview

    The Work Control Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all aspects of the work control program at a large-scale government nuclear site. This role ensures work is planned, authorized, and executed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with DOE requirements and ISMS principles. This is a senior leadership role managing a team of work control professionals and serving as the key liaison between operations, maintenance, engineering, safety teams, and government stakeholders.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead and improve the site-wide work control program, including work packages, JHAs, permit-to-work, and integrated work management processes
    • Manage and develop Work Control Supervisors and Specialists
    • Interface with government stakeholders on scheduling, authorization, and compliance
    • Oversee work packages including RWPs, LOTO, industrial hygiene, and fire protection
    • Manage backlog and scheduling across operations and maintenance teams
    • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions
    • Ensure team training and regulatory compliance

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a DOE or nuclear environment
    • 10+ years of work management or maintenance planning experience
    • 4+ years of leadership experience
    • Strong knowledge of ISMS, DOE requirements, LOTO, RWP, and JHA
    • Experience with CMMS systems like Maximo or SAP
    • Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Savannah River Site access badge and pass all required DOE background checks and personnel security requirements

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Master’s degree
    • Experience at DOE or similar federal sites
    • IWM system experience
    • DOE clearance (Q or L)
    • CMRP or OSHA 30

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    • Manage 5 to 12 team members
    • Responsible for hiring, performance, and development

    Travel

    • Up to 10% with occasional overnight

    Work Environment

    • Mixed office and field setting on a government nuclear site with required adherence to safety protocols and PPE
